Wilfred P. Royle, 96, of North Kingstown, died peacefully at home on March 26, 2026. He was the husband of the late Luella E. (Owens) Royle and Virginia P. (Miller) Royle. Born in Plainfield, CT, he was the son of the late Wilfred Royle and Lillian C. (Babcock) Royle
Mr. Royle was employed as a computer service technician with IBM until his retirement. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952.
Wilfred was an active member at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wickford as a conformation teacher, served as a lay Deacon and was a Docent at the Old Narragansett Church for many years. He also served as a Docent at Smith’s Castle.
He leaves his loving children, Gary W. Royle & his wife Carolann of Altus, OK and Karen L. Rose & her husband Skip of North Kingstown. He was the father of the late Carrie J. Maksymowicz and father-in-law of the late Henry “Max” Maksymowicz. Cherished grandfather of Christopher P. Royle, Brian S. Maksymowicz & his wife Keri, Andrew P. Maksymowicz & his wife Ruth, and the late David A. Royle. Great-grandfather of A.J. Maksymowicz, William Maksymowicz, Garrett Royle, Dylan Royle, Greyson Maksymowicz, and Mary Maksymowicz. He was the brother of the late Arlene A. Marx and Sally A. McKenna.
His Requiem Eucharist will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford. Burial will follow in the Old Narragansett Church Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
