Terry W. Moone

February 23, 1945 – May 11, 2026

Terry had great affection for those he loved, and he enjoyed shooting the breeze with people. He spent his time doing the things he loved – caring for his yard, house, and all the heavy equipment – the things that provided him pride and enjoyment.

 Terry was a fan of all the New York sports franchises – the Rangers, the Yankees, and the Giants, and he watched many games with his best friend Frank Murphy.

Terry retired as the Superintendent at the Belleville branch of the R.I. Department of Transportation in 1990.  After retirement, he started a business, Terry Moone Excavating, Inc., that kept him engaged in the community for the next 30 years.

Terry was blessed with tremendous support from his friends, neighbors, and family who surrounded him in his older age.

Terry was the son of the late Ernest B. (Si) Moone and Elsie (Fagnant) Moone. 

Terry is survived by his sister, Jacquelyn Moone Dawley of North Kingstown and his nieces, Marcy Dawley of Putnam, Connecticut, and Sue Dawley (and her husband, Lokesh Pai) of Warwick.  He was predeceased by his nephews, Skee and Si Dawley.  Terry’s long-time companion, Bettye Hall, predeceased him in 2014.

Burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery will be private.
