Susan C. Peterson-Parsons, 83, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on July 11, 2025 at Heatherwood Health Care Center. She was the loving wife of Patrick C. Parsons. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Paul H. Peterson and Freelove S. (Allen) Peterson.
Susan was employed as a mechanical draftsman with Gulton Industries of East Greenwich until her retirement.
A graduate of North Kingstown High School, Class of 1959, she enjoyed sharing her home and gardens for many class reunions.
She was a member of the RI Beekeepers Association and the URI Master Gardeners Program.
In her youth, she was a member of Rainbow at Washington Lodge and enjoyed spending her teenage years summering on Great Island on Salt Pond in Narragansett.
Susan was very talented with textiles, especially cross-stitch. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, canning, and spending winters with her husband Pat in Maine at their cabin in the woods.
She leaves her stepchildren, Michael P. Parsons & his wife Debra of Madison, NH, and Elizabeth A. Salisbury & her husband Jeffrey of Smyrna, ME. Step grandmother of Erika Martin, James Salisbury, Sierra Parsons, Aiden Parsons, and great-step grandmother of Alice Salisbury. She was the sister of Cynthia P. Carpenter of Wickford, Dianne L. McGowan of North Kingstown, and the late Pauline T. Davis. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Susan’s family wishes to thank her many friends, family members, caregivers, HopeHealth Hospice, and Heatherwood Health Center for their wonderful care.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM with a Funeral Service to follow in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford, Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in the Old Narragansett Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
