Shawn Michael Rice

Shawn Michael Rice, 58, of East Greenwich, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late William and Laura T. (Moore) Rice.

Shawn was a landscaper by trade, and music was his passion. He loved playing the guitar and singing with the band “The Beaks”. Having grown up in East Greenwich, he had many friends and most of them became family to him, especially his lifelong friend, Gino Maldonado.

Shawn leaves behind his beloved sister, Mary-Jo Rhone, his nieces and nephews, Loralyn M. Rhone, Haley Rhone, Nicole L. Maynard, Kaitlin Williams, Wesley R. Rice, Joseph Rezendes, John Rhone, Matthew Rhone, Michael Rhone, Richard White, and Elliott Poole.

Shawn was predeceased by his siblings, Wendy J. Rhone, Ronald P. Rhone, and Shannon O. Rice.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI 02886.
