Robert E.Donovan

77, of West Kingston, died peacefully on Saturday, December 25, 2010 at South County Hospital. Born in Fort Fairfield, Maine, he was the son of the late Isabelle (Johnston) Donovan. He was the husband of the late Lottie L. (Chambers) Donovan.


Mr. Donovan worked as a Laborer and Farm Hand for Albert Turf Farms of Exeter and Tuckahoe Turf Farms of Richmond for over 30 years. He enjoyed farm work, the outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.


He leaves his six sons: Larry Donovan of Exeter, Terry Donovan of Fort Fairfield, Maine, Scott Donovan of North Conway, New Hampshire, Tony Donovan of Exeter, Kirk Donovan of Westerly, and Todd Donovan of Hope Valley. He was the loving grandfather of Elizabeth Donovan of New Hampshire, Melody Donovan of North Kingstown, Shaiana Vanderveen of South Kingstown, and great-grandfather of Kyra and Kevin.


A committal service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited and requested to meet at the Administration Office parking lot prior to the service. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
