Richard R. Croft, 76, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on February 17, 2026 at Kent Hospital. He was the loving husband of Lynn B. (Bettencourt) Croft. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Leonard H. Croft and Flora (Renzi) Croft-Rodgers.
Mr. Croft was a graduate of Rhode Island College where he earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education. He was an elementary school teacher for many years in the Providence School System and the owner of R.R. Croft Asphalt Company in Cranston, RI. Mr. Croft was a Communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church, an avid golfer, and enjoyed walking.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his loving siblings: Kathleen Melikian of Cranston, Frederick Croft & his wife Rosemary of Narragansett, and Dr. James Rodgers & his wife Naomi of Asheville, NC. He was the brother of the late Leonard E. Croft and Santina Mulligan. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on MONDAY, MARCH 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis de Sales Church, 301 School Street, North Kingstown. Burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 will be appreciated.
