Richard A. Cheetham, 76, of East Greenwich, died December 6, 2024 at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Richard S. Cheetham & Agnes E. (Andrews) Cheetham.
Dick was employed as a painting contractor who greatly enjoyed his work. He loved hunting, fishing, and was a Lifetime Member of the Narragansett Gun Club.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman in West Berlin at Checkpoint Charlie during the Cold War.
He leaves his companion, Paula M. Valliere of Richmond and his sister Elizabeth A. Rossi of East Greenwich. He also leaves two nieces and two nephews. He was the former husband of Deborah Cheetham of East Greenwich.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
