Philip R. Coombs, 82, of Richmond, died at home on January 1, 2026. Born in Lynn, MA, he was a son of the late John P. Coombs & Elizabeth (Raymond) Coombs.
Philip was a jet engine mechanic and a civil service employee for over 30 years until his retirement. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He leaves his loving brother, Paul D. Coombs & his wife Helene of Charlestown. Cherished uncle of Sonia M. White & her husband Neil of Exeter, John P. Coombs & his wife Renata of Coventry, granduncle of Marissa Faustein, Amber Coombs, Madison White, Karli Pityer & her husband Christopher, Thamires Zigante, & great-granduncle of Siena Faustein, Maia Faustein, Joaquin Ferreira, Liz Ferreira, & Noah Pityer.
His funeral service will be held Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250 will be appreciated.
