Peter Joseph Magnan, 75, of Cranston, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Cindy Beth (Robinson) Magnan. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Horace E. and Virginia M. (Young) Magnan.
Peter worked as a Supervisor for RI Housing and had previously worked for the Providence Gas Company. Married in 1972 to his wife Cindy, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Peter was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Apponaug, where he sang in the choir, and St. Marys on Broadway in Providence. Peter had a remarkable gift for connecting with people. Proud of his own recovery, he was committed to guiding others through their own journeys. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He loved tracking the weather, reading and playing golf.
Alongside his wife Cindy, he is survived by his beloved children, Robert A. Magnan (Norm Breault) of Somerset, MA and Caroline A. Monterecy (Jonathan) of Cranston, his siblings, Edmond F. Magnan (Claudia) of Connecticut, Joanne C. Magnan (Michael Weaver) of New Hampshire, Margaret M. Nastasia (Lewis) of Massachusetts, Mary M. Baron (Terry) of Scituate, and Virginia J. Magnan (David Monti) of Warwick, and his grandchildren, Jack and Ella.
He was predeceased by his brother James H. Magnan
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 11:00AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 8:30AM-10:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
