Paula E. Gremour, 74, of Pawtucket, died peacefully on April 30, 2026 at Valley View Health Care Center. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Albert C. Gremour and Mary E. (Flynn) Gremour.
Paula was proud of her education, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Special Education at Salve Regina College and received her Master's Degree in Special Education from Providence College. Paula was a dedicated special education teacher until her retirement in 2018, working in Pawtucket and Warwick School Systems, J. Arthur Trudeau Center, The Groden Center and Lafayette School System in Louisiana. She was an alumna of Rhode Island 4-H and proud to see her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews active in 4H. Paula loved animals and was devoted to her poodles, often spending hours at local dog parks meeting other dog lovers. Paula spent her life following the music she loved, whether it was bluegrass music and clogging, or cajun and zydeco music at the Cajun and Bluegrass Festival, the Big Easy Festival or The Rhythm and Roots Festival. Paula's love of Cajun and Zydeco led her to even move to Louisiana for a number of years. Paula was an artist at heart enjoying photography, beaded jewelry design, pen and ink, painting and card design among many other mediums. Paula found community in connecting with other crafters and animal lovers "on line".
She leaves her sister, Sandra L. Horan of North Kingstown. She was the sister of the late Barbara J. Gremour. Cherished aunt of Alicia M. Cranston (Mark) of West Greenwich, Sean P. Horan (Bevin) of North Kingstown, Shamus D. Horan (Kristina) of Coventry, Kyle T. Horan (Bethany) of West Greenwich, Kaitlyn T. Horan of North Kingstown, and many grandnieces and nephews and a great-grandnephew.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff-family of the Third Floor at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation for the loving care and special connections they provided Paula, offering her comfort and valued connections these last six months.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 11, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM with a funeral service to follow in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery.
