Paul Rochette Obituary

Paul S. Rochette, 77, of North Kingstown, RI, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at his residence.  Paul was born on June 6, 1948 in Portsmouth, VA.   Paul was the son of the late Raymond P. Rochette and Elizabeth Rose (O’Connell) Rochette.  He was the beloved brother of Patricia A. Pace and her husband James of East Greenwich, Laura J. Mittelsteadt and her husband Stephan of East Greenwich, and Jeffrey D. Rochette and his wife Theresa of Taftville, CT.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Paul graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School in 1966.  He also attended the University of New England in Biddeford, ME as well as Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.

Paul was a devoted son to his mother and father, acting as their primary caregiver until their passing in 2013.  He was best known for his kind, caring, and generous ways.  He was always, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, despite his age.

Although Paul never had a family of his own, he loved children, especially all the relatives’ children.  Paul made everything fun and enjoyed inventing riddles on Easter for the children to search for their “special eggs.” They loved the thrill of the hunt!  Paul had a great sense of humor, a real kid at heart, and loved carrying on conversations and connecting with people.

Paul assisted the late Alan Southwick of North Kingstown for several years keeping score for the girls’ softball team.  He also served as referee for the men’s recreational basketball games sponsored by Quidnessett Baptist Church.

For many years, he was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and of course, the New England Patriots. When it came to sports, he could inevitably answer any question you posed to him.

Paul found tremendous joy in listening to music and dancing.  We couldn’t have asked for a better brother.

In accordance with Paul’s wishes, all services will be private.

Please honor Paul’s memory with an act of kindness.  That would bring him the greatest joy!

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
