Nicki A. (Nelson) Huling

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicki A. (Nelson) Huling, 63, of East Greenwich, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026.  Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late George W. Nelson, Jr. and Barbara A. (Long) Nelson of Warwick.

Nicki was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend.  She adored her son Michael and absolutely loved being his mom.  She welcomed people into her life with wide open arms and a big enthusiastic smile.  She exuded positivity, excitement, fun and a zest for all life had to offer.  She would jump at the opportunity to spend time with family and friends and was always ready to embark on an adventure such as biking, kayaking, or a quick day trip.  No matter what, time spent with Nicki was going to be fun, you were going to have some laughs, and you were going to make some awesome memories.  Nicki had spent many summers making friends and having fun while playing softball, a sport she loved to play.  Nicki loved working as a front counter associate for East Winds Dry Cleaners with her coworkers with whom she had developed many close friendships. 

Besides her beloved mother, she is survived by her son Michael G. Nelson, her sisters Wendy M. Nelson (Lian Ly) of Elk Grove, Ca., Lori A. Nelson of Providence, her brother William M. Nelson of San Rafael, Ca., her niece Jessica L. Nelson of Colchester, Ct., her niece Melanie M. Nelson of Coventry, RI., and several great nieces and great nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Douglas V. Nelson.

There will be a memorial gathering on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the West Warwick Country Club, 335 Wakefield St. West Warwick, RI from 5:00PM-8:00PM.
