Nicholas Caleshu

Nicholas Caleshu, 89, of North Kingstown, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Anthony and Sena (Teja) Caleshu.

Nicholas honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War Era and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rhode Island. A talented student, he was a member of the University’s Phi Beta Cappa Society. Nicholas went on to work for SUS Chemical as a Research and Development Chemist for over twenty years. He later worked as a Quality Assurance Director for American Velvet and was awarded a Patent for his research. In his retirement, Nicholas worked in Resource Recovery for Citizens Bank. He enjoyed his trips to Bermuda, Ireland and London and especially his vacations at his condo in Naples, FL. Nicholas also enjoyed golfing and skiing. He was an avid runner and ran three races in Falmouth, Massachusetts in 2002, 2004, and 2006.

He is survived by his former wife, Jan Caleshu of Coventry, and his sons, Jeffrey D. Caleshu of Voluntown, CT, and Gregory S. Caleshu of Warwick.

His Funeral Arrangements are private and have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
