Michelina Angelina (Macarusso) Owen, 95, of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late John Edgar Owen. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Amelia (Palumbo) Macarusso.
Michelina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who provided a loving home for her family. She was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Warwick. Michelina sang in the Church Choir for many years and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
She is survived by her beloved children, Michael T. Owen, Sr. (Deborah) of Cranston, John S. Owen (the late Debra) of Palm Bay, FL, Paul S. Owen (Rosemary) of Melbourne, FL, David J. Owen (Lisa) of Warwick, and Jane A. Owen, her six Grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, her sister, Anna Simonelli of Smithfield, and her best friend, Marion Theroux of Warwick.
Michelina was predeceased by her daughter Maureen J. Yeaw (Jay) of West Warwick.
The family is sincerely grateful to her cherished caregivers, Chantelle Dos Remedios and Christina Angell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:00AM at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 8:00AM – 10:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Interment will take place at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the RI Chapter of MADD, 806 West Shore Road, Warwick, RI 02889.
