Mary Lynn White

Mary L. White, 74, of North Kingstown, died peacefully at home on November 4, 2024.  She was the loving wife of Samuel A. White, Jr.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Leo J. Fortin and Helen (Zontek) Fortin.

Mrs. White was a graduate of URI where she received her bachelor’s degree in microbiology.  She was employed as a Medical Technologist at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital and as a Teacher’s Assistant at Quidnessett Elementary School in North Kingstown.  She was a Communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church in North Kingstown.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her loving children: Adam S. White and his wife Carey of North Kingstown and Kristen M. White of North Kingstown.  Cherished grandmother of Lauren E. White and Ryan A. White of North Kingstown.  She was the sister of Jeffrey (Rrea) Fortin of Smithfield, Ann Fortin of Pascoag, and the late Carol Fortin.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown.  Burial in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private.

Calling Hours will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 will be appreciated.
