It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marjorie Edith (Palmer)Ahern, 88, of Hopkinton, R.I.
She passed peacefully, surrounded by family, in her home on Monday, March 23, 2026. Private services were held, and a celebration of life will follow this summer. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Ralph ''Buddy'' Ahern Jr., and her eldest son, Larry (Lynn).
She is survived by seven children:Lester (Paula), Donald(Elaine), Debra Morse (Randy), Steven (Katrina),Sandra Schilke (Bob), Scott (Terry), and Glenn (Maria), as well as 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She dedicated 22 years to the Golden Years Retirement Home as founder and administrator,which she sold 13 years ago to care for her ailing husband. Our beloved matriarch instilled in us the values of hard work, generosity,and integrity.
She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, compassion, and devotion to family. In honorof her lifelong commitment to caring for others, we kindly ask that donations be made to the Dementia Society of America in lieu of flowers.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI.
