Marguerite (Dufresne) Walsh, 90, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late John A. Walsh. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Blanche (Dion) Dufresne.
Marguerite received her Bachelor’s Degree from Rhode Island College and received her Master’s Degree from the University of Rhode Island. She worked as a Guidance Counselor for the Warwick School Department for many years, retiring in 1990. Marguerite enjoyed traveling, boating, playing tennis, and was a member of The Coventry Chapter of Elks. She was a parishioner of Sts. John and Paul Parish in Coventry.
She is survived by her beloved children, Michele M. Komosa (Henry) of South Deerfield, MA, Michael J. Walsh (Vivian de Mello) of Swansea, MA, and Martin J. Walsh (Rita) of East Greenwich, her sister, Constance O’Neil of Exeter, her six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Muriel McLeroy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 11:00AM at Saints John and Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00AM-10:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Interment will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
