Margaret "Peggy" Delaney Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” Delaney, 80, of Warwick, died peacefully on December 3, 2024 at South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was a daughter of the late Andrew M. Mursick and Anne H. (Liska) Mursick.

Ms. Delaney was employed as an administrative assistant with John Hancock, Mutual Benefit, and Citizens Bank until her retirement.

She was a Communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church where she sang in the choir. 

She enjoyed square dancing with “The Swinging Squares” in Warwick and loved all animals, especially dogs. 

She leaves her loving children: Chris M. Maybach & her husband Robert of Saunderstown, Kathy A. Canavan & her companion Robin Matusak of Rotterdam, NY, Peter G. Delaney & his wife Linda of Maumelle, AR, and Ed G. Delaney & his wife Leslie of Murrieta, CA.  Cherished grandmother of Maegan Maybach, Patrick Maybach, Stephen Maybach, Alison Canavan, Kevin Canavan, Jake Kane & his wife Amanda, Josh Kane, Morgan Delaney, Jack Delaney, and 3 great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of Theresa Mursick of Three Rivers, MA and the late Marty S. Moore. 

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 9, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick, RI.  Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. 

Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the Pet Refuge, P.O. Box 83, North Kingstown, RI 02852 will be appreciated. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
