Margaret Rita (Butts) Pierce

Margaret Rita (Butts) Pierce, 92, of East Greenwich, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Benjamin F. Pierce. Born in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Rita I. (Brunelle) Butts.

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who provided a loving home for her family. She was also a member of the Country Music Association.

She is survived by her beloved children, Fred Prague Sherman of Warwick, Melody Sandra Lavender of Warwick, Michael Thomas Sherman of Warwick, John Joseph Sherman of Warwick, and Danette Dawn Russo of Warwick, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and fourteen great-great grandchildren.

She was the mother of the late and Inez Hedley Thames, Leilani Cheryl Jencks, William Eston, and Robert W. Sherman.

Her Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Interment will be private.
