Lucy Wellman (Foster) Campbell, 98, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Scott C. Campbell. Born in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian (Cutting) Wellman and the adopted daughter of Edward and Josephine (Cutting) Foster.
Lucy graduated from Attleboro High School and completed her studies at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She worked as a Senior Accounting Clerk and Bookkeeper for Amica Insurance Company for many years. At the age of 94, Lucy developed, fought, and survived Breast Cancer.
Lucy was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and Bethany Ministry in Warwick where she served in the Women’s Group, Altar Guild and the Project Linus. Lucy enjoyed walking with her dear friend Norma, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and most importantly she cherished her time with her family. She had a love for sweets and coffee ice cream. She also loved to snuggle with all her “Grand-Puppies” over the years.
She is survived by her beloved children, Dale C. Whitney (Stephen A.) of Warwick, Robert F. Campbell (Cathleen A. Collins) of Warwick, and Robin C. Penfield (Samuel L.) of Cary, NC, three grandchildren, Robert F. Campbell II, Christina A. (Campbell) Shippee, and Michelle Rose Campbell, and one great-grandchild, Cole S. Shippee.
She was the sister of the late Edward H. Wellman, Harold F. Wellman, Doris (Wellman) Dahle, and Donald A. Wellman.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini in North Kingstown, RI for their excellent care and love.
