Louis J. Chasse, II, 83, of Saunderstown, quietly exchanged time on Earth for eternity assured on October 15, 2025. He was the husband of the late Sandra H. (Feurer) Chasse. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was a son of the late Ernest G. Chasse and Dorothy E. (Buffum) Chasse.
Lou proudly served as North Kingstown’s first Fire Marshal from 1968 to 1994. He was a founding member of the RI Fire Marshal’s Association (formerly the RI Fire Safety Association) and member of the Exeter #1 Volunteer Fire Department. He contributed to three sections of the RI State Fire code in 1976.
A talented beekeeper, Lou owned and operated Arson Alley Apiary and Congdon Hill Farm along with his wife Sandra. He was a lifetime member of the RI Beekeepers Association and taught classes on Beekeeping.
Active in his community, Lou was a founding member of South County Habitat for Humanity, member of the Gideon Association South County Camp, NKFOP Lodge 33, and member of Beacon Church. Lovingly known as “Super Snoop”, Lou was a friend and mentor to many in beekeeping and firefighting.
He leaves his loving children, George J. Chasse & his wife Becky of North Kingstown and Lynann R. Eckhoff of West Warwick. Cherished grandfather of Erica L. Harrington of South Kingstown, Michaela E. Harrington of South Kingstown, Dexter T. Harrell of Birmingham, AL, Sandra K. Harrell of West Warwick, James Eckhoff of Mobile, AL, and four great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Paul W.. Chasse of North Kingstown and George A. Chasse of Mesa, AZ.
CALLING HOURS will be held Saturday, OCTOBER 25, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
His MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held Sunday, NOVEMBER 9, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. in Beacon Church, 100 Exeter Road, Exeter, RI. Burial will be private.
