Obituary-With Photograph-East Greenwich
Lloyd M. Essex, 91, of East Greenwich, went to be with Lord on October 16, 2024 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the loving husband of Helen (Jackson) Essex. Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Albert M. Essex and Sarah R. (Godfrey) Essex.
Mr. Essex was a talented finish carpenter, woodworker, and cabinetmaker. He was a founding member of Exeter Chapel, member of the Future Farmers of America and 4H Leader for many years.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his loving children: Bonnie Jean Briggs & her husband Rudy Procaccianti of East Greenwich, Benjamin D. Essex & his wife Corina of Canterbury, CT, and Joel T. Essex & his wife Joy of Canterbury, CT. He was the father of the late Joshua G. “Jody” Essex and father-in-law of Nancy Essex of Falmouth, MA. Cherished grandfather of Jacqueline Essex, Megan Gura, Amber Essex, Jacob Essex, Tobias Essex, Ethan Essex, Erin Essex, Adrian Essex, & great-grandfather of Griffin Schanbacher and Caleb Costa. He was the brother of the late Charles A. Essex.
His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. in Exeter Chapel, 765 Ten Rod Road, Exeter. Burial in the Godfrey-Essex Family Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Exeter Chapel will be appreciated.
