Warwick – Linda M. (Larose) Costa, 75, passed away on Wednesday August 6, 2025, at the West Shore Health Center.
Lin was a loving and thoughtful daughter, mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend. Her greatest passion was to spend what she called “quality time” with people. She treasured shared experiences and creating memories with people she loved.
She was born in Central Falls, RI, the daughter of the late Norman and Jeannette (Zacharie) Larose. She was the devoted mother of Jason (Courtney) Monterecy and Jonathan (Caroline) Monterecy, and the proud grandmother of Jack and Ella Monterecy. She was the sister of Dennis (Nancy) Larose and Kenneth Larose. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Andrew Costa for 32 years and stepmother of Bradley and Emily Costa.
After college she worked in a law office before becoming a full-time mother in 1977. When her sons were in high school, Lin returned to work at John Hancock Insurance the Beaulieu Agency in Warwick for 10 years. Later, Lin spent time working in the hospitality industry, first at Café Choklad in Providence and then as the host at T’s Restaurant in East Greenwich for 10 years.
An active member of her faith communities, Lin taught CCD at Saint Francis de Sales in North Kingstown for several years and led the First Communion program for a time. While at St. Francis de Sales she became a trained Stephen Minister and Eucharistic Minister. Lin was part of the Outreach Program as a member of the Cathedral of St. John in Providence until it closed in 2012. Most recently she was a communicant of Grace Church, Providence and a Meals on Wheels volunteer.
Lin was exceptionally talented in cooking, knitting and sewing. She had a certain flair with decorating and organization. Whether hosting at home or elsewhere, she had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and at ease. Lin’s warm smile would light up a room and she was the best listener you could ever hope to have!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM in THE URQUHART – MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI.
