Leonard J. Flood of Warwick, RI passed away on April 1, 2026. He was the beloved husband of former Warwick City Treasurer David C. Olsen. Born in Chicago, Il, he was the son of the late Edward J. Flood and Virginia G. (Arrigo) Flood.
He served as the Finance Director of both Barrington and Lombard, Illinois and was the Secretary of The Illinois Metropolitan Investment Fund. He also served as the President of the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association. He went on to become the Business Director for the Warwick public schools in Rhode Island.
Besides his husband, he is survived by his children Brian M. Flood (Molly), Amy C. Flood, Bridget M. Flood, Sheila A. Priebe (Marcus), Moira S. Flood, his sister Angela M. Carey, sister-in-law Louise Flood and his niece, Nicole M. Enverga (Michael).
He was predeceased by his brother, Edward A. Flood and his brother-in-law, Richard L. McConnell and Robert E. Carey, Jr.
The Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11 am at Grace Episcopal Church, Providence
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Leonard to: Grace Church Music Fund, 300 Westminster Street, Providence, RI 02903, or the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907.
