Warwick - Karen A. (Lee) Beauchesne,82, affectionately known as Karen, passed away on Wednesday ,May 27, 2026, at Hope Hospice in Providence, surrounded by the peace and comfort of loving care. She was born on December 14, 1943, in Providence, Rhode Island, and lived a life marked by devotion, kindness, and faith.
Karen was the beloved wife of Roger W. Beauchesne, and they shared more than 40 years of marriage filled with love, companionship, and mutual devotion. She was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Addie M. (Brouillette) Mercer Lee and the stepdaughter of the late Ernest J. Mercer Jr. Her family was central to her life, and she treasured the many roles she held as a wife, mother, stepmother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.
She was the loving mother of Carleen Ricci of East Providence and Kristina Ricci of Warwick. She was also the devoted stepmother of Elizabeth Heaney of Charleston, South Carolina, and the late Roger W. Beauchesne, Jr. Karen was the sister of Joseph A. Mercer of Rotunda, Florida, Maureen J. Mercer of Atlanta, Georgia, and the late Ernest J. Mercer III. She was the cherished grandmother of Jamie Heaney of West Elmhurst, New Jersey, and Julia J. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Hazel Anne Heaney, Griffin Heaney, and Doris Heaney. In addition, she was the aunt of Brian Mercer.
Karen was predeceased by her sister Christine Mercer.
Karen was a woman who brought warmth and steadiness to every part of her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for Agostini Construction Company for more than eight years, where she was valued for her reliability and careful attention to detail. She later served the State of Rhode Island in the Long-Term Care Division for over 10 years, contributing her skills and dedication in service to others. Her work ethic and quiet professionalism reflected the same thoughtful character she carried into her home and family life.
Outside of work, Karen found joy in cooking and entertaining. She had a gift for making others feel welcome, and she took great pleasure in creating gatherings that brought family and friends together. Her home was often a place of comfort, good food, and heartfelt conversation, and those who knew her will remember the love she poured into every meal and every occasion. She was especially known for the kindness she showed and the faith that guided her throughout her life.
Karen will be remembered as a loving, kind, and faith-filled woman whose presence brought comfort and strength to those around her. She lived with grace and generosity, and her life was a blessing to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will remain forever in the hearts of her loved ones, who will carry forward the example of her devotion, compassion, and enduring love.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 11:00am in the URQUHART – MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail Exeter at 12:00pm.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 9:00am -11:00am in the funeral home.
