Judith E. (Haire) Bihday

Mrs. Judith “Judy” Ellen (Haire) Bihday, 82, of Warwick, RI, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, in Punta Gorda, FL, with her 2 daughters by her side.  Judy was born on August 2, 1943, in Providence, RI, the daughter of the late Thomas Haire and Margaret (O’Connor) Haire.  She was the loving wife of Nicholas Bihday for 54 years (who predeceased her on 8/18/2024). Judy is survived by her devoted children Debbie Bihday of Punta Gorda, Florida; Christine (Eric Kershnar) Bihday of Woodbridge, Connecticut; and her three adoring grandchildren Maggie, Juliana and Larry Kershnar.

Judy was a proud graduate of the St. Xavier High School, Providence, Rhode Island, and Rhode Island College, having held 2 master’s degrees.  Judy was a well-known mathematics teacher and department head in the Warwick Public Schools having taught at Winman and Aldrich Junior High Schools, and Pilgrim and Toll Gate High Schools.  She was also the secretary of the teacher’s union, and taught mathematics at CCRI. Having taught many students over the years and having tutored dozens without compensation, Judy made a positive and lasting impact on so many lives.

Judy was a devout Irish Catholic who had many close friends and social connections.  She was bright, funny, witty, and loving.  Most of all Judy loved her family.  She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 8:00am-9:15am at Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI.  Funeral will take place at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick, RI, on October 4, 2025, at 10:00am.  The burial will be held directly after at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI.
