Joseph Mazza, Sr.

89, of Warwick, passed away Saturday at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lillian J. (Priest) Mazza. The couple had been married 66 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Carmine L. and Catherine T. (Farrell) Mazza.

Mr. Mazza was a Plumbing and Heating Sales Representative for Sydney Supply Co. until his retirement. He served in The United States Army during WW II and was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, class of 1940. Mr. Mazza was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Knights of Columbus and was also an avid gardener. He was devoted to his wife and family.

He was the beloved father of Joseph Mazza, Jr. of Long Boat Key, FL, Susan E. Angeloro of Saunderstown, Janice Lynn Swanson of York, ME and Deborah Anne Dennett of Warwick. Loving brother of Louis F. Mazza of Warwick and the late John P. Mazza. Cherished grandfather of twelve and great grandfather of two.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
