John A. Tedeschi

88, of Charlestown, died peacefully at home on December 9, 2010. Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Anthony Tedeschi and Lucia (Castaldi) Tedeschi. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia (Gradlione) Tedeschi and companion of Mary Daly.

Mr. Tedeschi was a Truck Driver for Cardi Construction Company and was the former owner of The Shamrock Restaurant of Warwick. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was stationed with the 36th Evacuation Hospital in the Pacific. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 254, Pasco Senerchia Post # 74 of West Warwick, and a former member of The 60 Inc.

Besides his companion, he leaves his sister, Gilda E. Petrocelli of Warwick.

His Funeral will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 9:45 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
