John T. Hultquist

John T. “Jack” Hultquist, 88, of Warwick passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara E. (Mullen) Hultquist for 56 years. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Henry and Alice (McNally) Hultquist.

John graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1954.  He embraced life and loved everyone he met.  He was kind, gentle, grateful, and humble.  He was an avid New England sports fan.  He loved the Red Sox and Patriots and attending Boston College Football games.   In addition to his love of sports, he was a lover of the arts.  He enjoyed poetry and music, especially the opera.  He enjoyed spending time and having fun with his family and many friends.  He was extremely proud of his four children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.  

He is survived by his loving children Jacqueline Hultquist of Orlando, Florida, John T. Hultquist, Jr.  and wife Valerie of Canton, Georgia, Mary Gannon and husband James of Coventry, and Christopher Hultquist and wife Christine of Narragansett. Caring grandfather of Matthew, Andrew, Jamie, Alison, Faye, Benjamin and Riley Hultquist and James, Jessica and Jack Gannon. Caring great grandfather to Lucas and Everly. 

Brother of the late James Hultquist and Henry G. Hultquist, Jr.  He enjoyed companionship with Millie Helle for the last few years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick, Rhode Island.  Burial will be private.  Calling hours will be held on Saturday March 1, 2025, from 8:30 to 10:15 am MURPHY-URQUHART FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, Rhode Island.
