John A. Costa, Jr., 78, of Warwick, died peacefully on February 6, 2025 at Alpine Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Judith H. (Compston) Costa. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John A. Costa, Sr. and Elsie E. (Bell) Costa.
John was employed as a salesman and Senior Lubricant Consultant at Ocean State Oil for over 25 years before his retirement. He was well known in his field for his wealth of knowledge and his willingness to teach others. John was an avid golfer and liked working in his garage. He and his wife enjoyed drag racing at Connecticut Dragway and later New England Dragway.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
He leaves his loving son, Michael J. Costa and his wife Kim of Warwick. He was the father of the late Richard M. Costa. Cherished grandfather of Michael J. Costa, Jr. of Warwick. He was the brother of the late Marilyn Damon, Shirley DiCristofaro, Joanne Howard, and Sylvia McCormack.
Calling Hours will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 from the hours of 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery will be private.
