John Peter Almonte

John Peter Almonte, 60, of Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Angelo Almonte, Jr. and Mary Doreen (Kelley) Almonte.

John graduated from Bryant College and went on to serve as a Warwick Police Officer. Early on in his career, John suffered a debilitating injury which changed the course of his life. Despite facing many new challenges, he never stopped fighting and had a meaningful impact on the lives of those who knew him. John will always be remembered for his bravery and determination in the face of adversity.

He is survived by his beloved siblings, Suzanne Varela (Mario) of Warwick, Angelo Almonte III of Rhode Island, Lori Jean Almonte of North Providence, Michael P. Almonte of Warwick, and Richard Almonte (Stephanie) of Cranston, and several cherished nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 8:30AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 3rd Street, East Greenwich. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 4:00PM-8:00PM.
