JoAnn J. Sippy

JoAnn J. (Berard) Sippy, of Warwick, was 78 years old when she passed away on the 4th of July. She went peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on June 4th, 1948, by Maurice and Veronica Berard.

JoAnn will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of family and friends.

JoAnn received a bachelor’s degree from Mount St Joseph’s college and received a master’s degree in education from Rhode Island College. JoAnn worked as a 3rd and 4h grade schoolteacher for the city of Warwick, for over 30 years. She taught at Lippett Elementary School and Cedar Hill Elementary School until her retirement. JoAnn was very passionate about reading and spending time with her family, friends and church.

JoAnn was survived by her older son Erik Sippy and his wife Tanya Sippy, her younger son Kevin Sippy, and her two grandchildren, Corey Sippy and Cody Sippy, who adored her dearly. She had four siblings, her two brothers Michael Berard and John Berard and her two sisters, Sue Mochrie and Karen Jack.

The funeral service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026,  at the URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.

Funeral Service at 6:00PM, with viewing prior from 4:00PM-6:00PM. The family welcomes floral tributes in celebration of her life.

JoAnn will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, smile and her laugh. She was always there for her loved ones and will be missed by all. Love, Love.
