Jo-Ann K. Hutchins

Jo-Ann K. Hutchins, 79, of North Kingstown, passed away leaving behind a family and community forever brightened by her presence. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward “Jim” Hutchins, with whom she shared a life full of love and memories.

Born to the late Joseph and Ann (Mulvey) Thomas, Jo-Ann had a spirit that was impossible to ignore. She was truly the life of the party—the one who filled a room with laughter, stories, and warmth the moment she arrived. Whether surrounded by family or friends, Jo-Ann had a gift for bringing people together and making every gathering feel special.

She was a devoted and loving mother to Rory Hutchins of Boston and Kerrie Grow and her family of North Kingstown. Her love for her extended family was at the center of everything she did.

Jo-Ann is survived by her sisters, Barbara Heidt and Mary-Ellen Thomas. She was predeceased by her brother, Jeff Thomas, and is also survived by his wife, Linda. She is also fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, who will miss her laughter, her stories, and her joyful spirit.

Jo-Ann’s vibrant personality, generous heart, and ability to make people feel loved will never be forgotten. Though she may be gone, the joy she brought into so many lives will live on.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 12, 2026 at 10:30 AM in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown.  Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery

Calling Hours will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. 

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to St. Bernard Church will be appreciated.
