Jennie Louise (Carlow) Hodges

Jennie Louise (Carlow) Hodges, 85, of North Kingstown, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Curran) Carlow.

Jennie worked as an Assembler for General Electric Inc. and previously worked for Mine Safety Manufacturing and Taco Industries. She had an overwhelming deep love for family and dedicated her life to them. Jennie was not only a compassionate and loving mother to her children, but to many other family members and neighborhood children throughout her lifetime; always providing unfiltered sound advice. She was a loving daughter and caretaker for her mom in her later years and never wavered in her love and care. Jennie took care of anyone who needed help, needed a friend, or a safe place to sleep. She enjoyed socializing with her long-time friend Barbara, who she loved dearly and who was a great support to Jennie and her family. Jennie was also a member of the North Kingstown Senior Center and enjoyed dancing, crocheting, playing cards, and playing bingo. She also loved animals and adored her cats, Sandy and Oreo.

She is survived by her beloved children, Alfred L. Hodges, III (Christine) of Coventry, Robin L. McFall (William) of Warwick, Tammy L. Chousse of Coventry, and Tonya Hoegen (Michael) of North Kingstown, her brother, Albert Carlow (Gladys) of Burrillville, her nieces, Charlotte Alliare of Johnston, and Sheila Froelich of Virginia, her goddaughter, Carmeleta Bisignani, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Marjorie Miller, Charles Carlow, and Frederick Carlow.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 7:00PM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
