James Phillips Obituary

James Andrew Phillips, 65, of East Greenwich, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Lewis and Theresa (Mello) Phillips.

James worked in sales for both Bostitch and PrimeSource Incorporated. He served as an East Greenwich Volunteer Firefighter for many years and was active in the East Greenwich Fireman’s Association. James was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Parish. He loved going to the beach and digging quahogs. Most importantly, James loved being with his family. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his beloved siblings, Thomas Phillips (Angelyn), Mary Shepherd (Jeff), Michael Phillips (Cherrie), Margaret Zuercher, Charles Phillips (Nancy), Susan Kurtz (Robert), and Elizabeth Carlson (Robert), and several cherished nieces and nephews, Rebecca, John, Sebastian, Michael, Daniel, Colby, Abby, and Andrew.

He was the brother of the late Stephen Phillips (Shelley).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 3rd Street, East Greenwich. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 4:00PM – 7:00PM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
