Geoffrey Steven Roy

Geoffrey Steven Roy, 77, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 3, 1947, he was the beloved son of the late Francis P. and Madeline V. (Smith) Roy.

A 1968 graduate of Providence College, Geoffrey proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a successful career in the computer industry where he worked in Sales and Training at Burroughs, Data General and IBM. His knowledge and work ethic were widely respected.

Geoffrey was a devoted father to Timothy A. Roy (Amy) of Warwick and the late Terrence M. Roy (Rachel), and a cherished grandfather to Bailey Roy, Emily Roy, Megan Roy, and Caleb Roy. He was the former husband of Nancy A. (Thurston) Roy of Warwick. He will be fondly remembered for his warmth, generosity, and boundless love for his family.

In his spare time, Geoffrey enjoyed playing golf and exploring the world through travel, passions that brought him joy and fulfillment throughout his life. He also coached Little League, enjoyed gardening, and was an avid reader.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00AM-10:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
