Frederick Russell Taylor Sr. passed away peacefully while in hospice, on May 3rd, 2026. He was born to the late Russell C. Taylor and Mildred Rosalie (Kimball)Taylor, on October 14th, 1943. Fred was married to Kathleen (Maher) Taylor who preceded him in death in 2016.
Fred worked at Hoechst Chemical in Coventry, Rhode Island for over 30 years.
He is survived by his son Frederick R. Taylor Jr. (Rick), his daughter-in-law, Diane Taylor, his daughter Susan Taylor and her husband, Barry Rich. He also leaves two cherished grandsons, William D. Taylor and Luke H. Taylor, along with his sister Barbara Turner and brother Richard Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many good friends.
Dad was a character of the first order. His interests were often out of the norm. From collecting classic cars, to being a tattoo enthusiast long before it was the norm, he lived life his way.
It is now time for dad to be reunited with Kathy. They had been apart for nearly ten years, but now they are together again.
Although he will be missed greatly by those who loved him, he is at peace now.
Fred lived the last few months of his life under difficult circumstances. He handled it with unparalleled dignity, humor and grace. It was a final testament to his family.
Fred’s family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, May 11th, from 9:00AM-11:00AM at the URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 1 Rhode Island Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919.
