In Loving Memory of Frances “Franny” Villari
A Light of Innocence, A Heart of Pure Grace
Frances J. Villari, lovingly known as Franny, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born in Providence on January 3, 1960, the beloved daughter of the late Carl G. and Patricia K. (Curley) Villari.
Franny leaves behind a legacy of purity, quiet strength, and love that transcended words. To know Franny was to know a soul unburdened by the chaos of the world—someone who lived with a gentleness so profound, it touched all who graced her presence.
Since infancy, Franny was cared for with compassion and dignity. She spent many years at the Eleanor Slater Hospital – Zambarano Unit, before moving to Mowry Group Home and later to her final residence at Hatchery Group Home. Each home became a chapter in her story, not just of care, but of connection.
Her life was not defined by traditional measures, but by something far more meaningful: her radiant presence. Franny had a way of making people pause—reminding us of the beauty in simplicity and the power of connection. To those who knew and loved her, she was far more than a sister, aunt, cousin, and friend—she was a quiet beacon of innocence, grace, and unconditional love, a beautiful reminder that joy does not come from grand experiences. Franny moved through the world in a way few do—attuned not to the noise of the everyday, but to the rhythm of love, sound, touch, and familiarity.
She delighted in life’s purest pleasures. One of her greatest joys came when her brother John visited. The familiar rhythm of his steps, the sound of his voice, touch of his hand, and the tasty treats he brought - always her favorites: mashed potatoes, chocolate pudding and whipped cream - lit up her face with a smile that needed no words. It wasn’t just the soft taste or the comforting texture—it was the sacred gesture, the hand that fed her with unwavering devotion.
Franny’s life teaches us that love does not always need language. That joy can be found in the smallest, most sacred exchanges. That true connection is often silent - sensed and felt through the depth of feeling that often escapes words. And perhaps, that was her gift to the world: a reminder to slow down and see with the heart.
She leaves behind a family who adored her, friends who were endlessly inspired by her spirit, and a world made better for having known her. Franny’s light never dimmed—it simply returned to the stars, where the purest souls belong. She shared a special bond with her brother, John C. Villari of Smithfield, who survives her. She was a beloved aunt to several nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry her spirit with them always. She was predeceased by her sisters Viola L. Fratus, Patricia K. Morrissey, Rose A. Villari, and niece, Tricia R. Morrissey —whose light she now joins in eternal peace.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 12 Noon at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
May we all learn to live a little more like Franny did—with open hearts, sharpened senses, and a soul attuned to love.
Rest gently, sweet Franny. You were—and will always be—a guiding light.
