Evelyn L. (Hambly) Gardiner

84, a homemaker of Warwick, passed away Friday at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Howard J. Gardiner for 67 years. Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Ella (Rice) Hambly.

Mrs. Gardiner was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Warwick. She served on the Board of Directors of The Warwick Boys & Girls Club for many years.

She was the beloved mother of Michael J. Gardiner and James B. Gardiner, both of Burrillville, Howard J. Gardiner, Jr. of Sharpsburg, GA and Mark H. Gardiner of North Kingstown. Caring sister of Olive Gardiner, Gladys Levin, Jean Le Doux and Joan Knight. Loving grandmother of eleven, great grandmother of six and great great grandmother of two.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 4-8 pm.
