Eleanor Helen Bennett, 81, of Warwick, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Bennett. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Helen (Cassidy) Johnson.
Eleanor worked as an Administrative Assistant at Miriam Hospital until her retirement in 2015.
She is survived by her beloved children, Michael A. Perry (Rene) of Venice, FL and Monica A. Handy (Steven) of North Kingstown, her sister Evelyn Carter (Kenneth) of Pensacola, FL, and her grandchildren, Olivia Labbe, Isabelle Weaver, Eleanor Handy, and Michael Perry, Jr.
She was the sister of the late Richard Johnson.
Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family, her precious kitty Lily and her dear friends at Weathersfield Commons: Joan, Kathy, Arlene, and Jean to name a few. In the past few years Eleanor had developed a passion for crocheting and had become quite proficient according to her teacher. Eleanor loved to cook, read and binge watch a good series. She would often share recipes, books and stories with her granddaughters. In more recent times Eleanor enjoyed listening to the trains speed by her residence.
Eleanor will be greatly missed by all those that loved her.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, RI. Interment will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
