Edith E. D'Alfonso

Edith E. D’Alfonso of East Greenwich, RI and formerly North Kingstown, RI passed away on December 1, 2025. She was 98 years old. Married to Victor D’Alfonso in 1947, they were inseparable for 76 years before his death in 2023.

She was the daughter of John and Lucia (DeQuattro) Ciolli and mother of four children: Lucille Sliker and her husband Paul, Victor J. D’Alfonso and his wife Marcia, Richard A. D’Alfonso and his wife Patricia and Steven E. D’Alfonso and his wife Loriann. Edith leaves 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to raising four children Edith worked as a hairdresser and for many years supporting Victor with the family business, Warwick Floor Surfacing Co. which they started together in 1957. Retirement years were spent traveling as well as living in Fort Myers, FL during the winter months. Edith was an avid golfer and earned two “hole in one” awards over the years. 

The one constant in her life was her husband, Victor. They met as teenagers and planned to marry from the start. They were engaged to be married on her 18th birthday, by proxy, since Victor was in the Pacific during WW II. Always together, always acting as one, he remained the most important person in her life.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford, Village, North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown.  Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. 

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to St. Elizabeth Home, 1 St. Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818 will be appreciated.
