Donald Chapman Obituary

Donald Joseph Chapman, 84, of Warwick, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Francis and Margaret (McCormick) Chapman.

Donald graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in Providence early to promptly and proudly serve the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He continued to provide direct support to military services in the private sector for several years. He went on to work as a Financial Manager in the banking and insurance industry until his retirement in 2008. Donald was a parishioner of St. Teresa Church in Providence and the Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge #2359 in Smithfield. In his free time, Donald enjoyed golf, boating, fishing, and political analysis. He found time to relax on Sundays by watching a good football game and eating some cheese and crackers while listening to Julio Iglesias and Jefferson Starship.

He is survived by his beloved son, Jason C. Chapman and his wife Cheryl of Warwick and his cherished daughter Kimberly A. LaBreche and her husband Richard of Scituate, his grandchildren, Jayce Chapman, Julianna Chapman, Sarah LaBreche, Kaylin Tokarski and her husband Brett, and his great-grandson, Jackson Tokarski, his niece, Robin Newton, and his nephew and godson, Daniel Chapman.

He was the brother of the late Francis Chapman, Richard Chapman, Shirley Sadowski, Joan Souza, and Marilyn Deal.

Donald’s gentlemanly nature, inspirational values, positivity and kindness will be long lived by the influence he had on the memories of his family, friends, and acquaintances. May he have eternal rest with his brothers and sisters whom he loved so much.
