Darrel W. Ashton

Darrel W. Ashton, 79, of West Warwick, formerly of North Kingstown, died May 31, 2026 at Norwalk Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Lynal M. Ashton, RN.  Born in Texarkana, AK, he was a son of the late Robert L. Ashton and Majorie M. (Page) Ashton.

Mr. Ashton was employed as a Senior Accountant with ENE Systems, Inc. in Canton, MA until his retirement.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the North Kingstown VFW Post 152, member of the Tri-City Elks Lodge # 14 of Warwick, and an avid sports fan enjoying  pickleball, golf, volley ball, bowling and watching football.

He leaves his loving children, Mark D. Ashton & his wife Tabatha of Jamestown, Timothy L. Ashton & his partner Suzanne Schwartz of Cranston, and Melissa L. Ashton & her partner Robert Brown of Pascoag.  He was the father of the late Christopher W. Ashton and William W. Ashton.  He was the loving companion of Dianne L. Johnston of Warwick.  Cherished grandfather of Nick Ashton, Cameron Ashton, Alex Ashton, Bramble Ashton, and Cassie Brown.  He was the brother of Michael Ashton of Georgia.  

Calling Hours will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 PM in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.  

His Funeral and Burial with Military Honors in Elm Grove Cemetery will be private
