Dana Magnus Andersen

Dana Magnus Andersen, 51, of Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by loved ones and friends. Born in Warwick, he was the son of Richard Magnus Andersen of Greenville and the late Cynthia Jean (Horlbogen) Andersen.

Dana was a graduate of Toll Gate High School and also attended the University of Rhode Island where he was a member of the Phi Kappi Si fraternity.  Dana loved to cook and worked as a Chef for various restaurants, including Iggy’s Chowder House in Warwick, Turtle Soup Restaurant in Narragansett, and Chopmist Charlie’s in Jamestown. He was very happy when he was cooking for his loved ones,and coaching their cooking as well.  He was a devoted uncle who loved spending time with his family. In his free time, Dana was an avid fisherman. He will be greatly missed.

Alongside his father, Richard M. Andersen (Janice) of Greenville, he is survived by his beloved siblings, Lauren Yabut (Mark) of Warwick, Joshua Andersen (Karen) of Warwick, and Casey Ryan (Stephen) of Greenville, his nephews and niece, David J. Yabut, Allyson M. Yabut, Jake R. Andersen, Max J. Andersen, Jackson and Harrison Ryan, and many loving relatives and friends.

His Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2:00PM at Christ Community Church, 224 Woodward Road, Providence. Burial will be private.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
