Cynthia Diana Lopes, 71, Warwick, formerly of South Kingstown, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Theresa (Snow) Pontbriand.
Cynthia worked as a Supervisor for the State of Rhode Island in East Providence. She was an avid golfer, and served on the board of Pari, People Actively Reaching Independence in Pawtucket, RI.
She is survived by her daughter Lynn Marie Bates (Robert) of Warwick, her siblings Roger Pontbriand (Mary) of Warwick, Louis Pontbriand of Georgia, Robert Pontbriand (Renee) of Florida, David Pontbriand of Exeter, John Pontbriand (Lisa) of Warwick, Barbara Fahey (David) of Coventry, her sister-in-law Simone Pontbriand, her grandchildren, Gabrielle Sorenson, Dion Sprinkle-Bouchard, Leah Marie Hardman, Savannah Hardman, and Faith Bates, her great-grandchildren, Briella Sorenson and Hunter Brouillard, and her partner in life, the late Robert C. Ridings.
Cynthia was predeceased by her daughter Michelle A. Hardman, and her sibling’s Donna Christie, Lizette Kaufman and Albert Pontbriand.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 8:45AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOMES, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 40 Washington Street, West Warwick.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
