Cynthia Gardner Obituary

Cynthia Grace (Horton) Gardner, 77, of Warwick, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was the loving wife of George M. Gardner, Jr., Battalion Chief, WFD Retd. for fifty-eight years. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha (Gregory) Horton.

Cynthia worked as a Claims Service Representative for Met Life Insurance Company and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of the Hillsgrove United Methodist Church. An excellent crafter, Cynthia was a member of the Pilgrim Senior Center where she taught quilting classes and enjoyed sewing. She was a volunteer at VOWS and also enjoyed traveling to new places.

Alongside her husband, George M. Gardner, Jr., Battalion Chief WFD Retd. of Warwick, she is survived by her beloved children, Brenda A. Wood (James) of Coventry and Tricia M. Gardner of Raeford, NC, her sister, Roberta Booth (Robert) of Chambersburg, PA, and her grandchildren, Chelsea, Christine, and Trinity.

She was the sister of the late Peg Keenan.

Her Funeral Services are private and entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
