Claudette B. Dufresne, 85, of East Greenwich, RI, died peacefully on January 27, 2025. Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Ovila A. Dufresne & Gabrielle J. (Deserres) Dufresne.
Claudette, a proud graduate of Rhode Island Junior College, was a Nurse for over 40 years. She worked as a Charge Nurse at Charlesgate Nursing Center where she compassionately and tirelessly cared for all of her patients until her retirement. In retirement, she spent her days spoiling her grandchildren, enjoying the view of Narragansett Bay from her balcony, and tending to her plants.
As a communicant of our Lady of Mercy Church, she was a devout catholic who prayed for many people and things, especially for the sanctity of human life as well as the safety and security of children everywhere.
Most of all, Claudette passionately loved and adored her own children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. When she wasn’t watching classic movies, Fox News, or eating her favorite sweets, she doted on her cat, Emmy, whom she cherished. A good cup of coffee and a jelly donut would make her day.
She leaves her loving children who will miss her immensely: Lon J. Dufresne & his wife Carrie of Palm Harbor, FL; Kyle Dufresne & his wife Michelle of Suwanee, GA; Hollie B. Lussier & her husband Peter of North Kingstown, RI; and Heidi J. Taylor of East Greenwich, RI. Claudette was the cherished grandmother of Ryan Dufresne, Kelly Dufresne, Jack Dufresne, Kate Dufresne, Nick Dufresne, Kasie Dugdale, Logan Taylor, and great-grandmother of Spencer & Sebastian Dugdale.
She also leaves her beloved youngest sister, Georgette Curran of Woonsocket, RI. She was predeceased by her two elder sisters and partners in crime: Gertrude Potter, formerly of Virginia, and Jeannette Winslow, formerly of Maryland.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown, RI. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery.
