Claire Theresa McCormick

Claire T. (Verville) McCormick, 93, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026.  She was the beloved wife of the late William John McCormick for sixty-one years.  Born in West Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Eva (Poliquin) Verville.

Claire graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing with the Class of 1953.  She went on to become a Registered Nurse with the V.N.A for many years before her retirement.  She was an active communicant of the  Immaculate Conception Church in Cranston.

She is survived by her two sisters-in-law, Irene R. Verville and Isabelle McElroy and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her two brothers, Albert N. Verville and Richard E. Verville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:00AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Dr, Cranston.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave, Warwick, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00PM-7:00PM. Interment  will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Claire’s memory to V.N.A Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI, 02886.
