93, of Cranston, passed away Sunday at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy L. (Phillips) Carr. Born in Cranston, he was one of seven children of the late Charles and Mary (Cullen) Carr.
Mr. Carr was a Civil Service Employee at Davisville until his retirement in 1973 then was employed by the R.I. Port Authority for 10 years. Devoted to his family, Charles was a Jack of All Trades, a history buff and enjoyed traveling. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, a member of St. Joseph Mens Guild, an alumnus of Narragansett Council of B.S.A. and president of the National Chapter of the "1918" Club.
He was the loving father of Jean M. Carr of Cranston, Charles R. Carr of Coventry, James P. Carr of Exeter and the late Dorothy Helen Carr Mattera. Caring brother of Daniel Carr. Cherished grandfather of six and great-grandfather of six.
His funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 4-8 pm.
