Carol Ann (Sauro) Zalobowski

Carol Ann (Sauro) Zalobowski, 84, of Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Zalobowski, Jr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Gilda (Falchini) Sauro.

Carol worked as the Assistant Director of the RI Heritage Commission for the State of Rhode Island under the Administration of Governor J. Joseph Garrahy.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a devoted lifelong friend to many. Carol had a thirst for life and a passion for experiencing all that it had to offer. Her energy and feistiness could fill any room even while struggling with her health. She was beautiful, compassionate intelligent, outspoken and a talented cook who loved to feed anyone who walked into her home, especially her family. She loved to travel the world and was affectionately known as the Casino Queen.

She is survived by her beloved children, Joseph Zalobowski III (Heidi) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Michael A. Zalobowski of East Greenwich, and Susan C. Welch of Warwick, as well as her brother, Joseph Sauro of Warwick, her grandchildren, James Vandivort (Sarah), Nick Zalobowski (Angelica) Alex Welch, and Victoria Welch, her great-grandchildren, Leah and Nathan Vandivort, and Isabella Zalobowski, and her nephews, Anthony and Tim Sauro also held a special place in her heart.

Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 9:00AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick with a Funeral Service at 10:30AM at Christ Church, 1025 Main Street, East Greenwich, RI 02818. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
